Cappen launches a cute new site for their online advertising agency—and just to be straight, when we say 'cute', we really mean 'nicely refined, solid and innovative IA, driven by a little flying bird mascot'-level of cute. It's just a different and friendly way to construct a portfolio that many "cooler" designers would not be able to pull off in such an approachable manner. And since Cappen caters to a number of multimedia fields, from online ads to e-mail marketing, it's absolutely correct to engage the largest audience possible by cultivating such a friendly atmosphere.... Cisma bridges the gap between fine art and commerce with a refreshing emphasis on the former. Their concise web site employs an elegant and nearly impenetrable font. And we wish they'd lend us that giant Hammer & Tongs-ish stuffed tooth that adorns their site's illustration gallery -- that thing is freakin' cute.... More
One of the strongest typographic portfolios we've seen in a while, Dado gives us a nice pastel-hued wrapper with a sort of "scotch-taped-together" graphic accent that really works well for this boxy format. But beyond the online packaging, it's really all about the typefaces, flourishes & ornaments for this type afficianado who states at one point, "I like type so bad that I use it even when there's no text to be written". Now that's deep... but not nearly as deep as the brilliant print, poster and editorial work found in this simple, three page site. Fantastico.... More
One of the premiere web design firms and Flash developers in Brazil—Grafikonstruct specializes in the design of Flash-powered sites for the fashion industry and other purveryors of style. These are the guys to go to if you want to engage your audience with sophisticaed graphics and interactive sites... Our only critique was the awkwardness of their site—in the quest to make an uber-Flashy showcase, they lost sight of usability and the power of basic copy. In the end, the work speaks for itself, and until they redesign, the latest projects are one click away on the homepage.... More

With a simple stroke and a minimalist style, Rubens from Brazil demonstrates great technique in his drawings... But his art is more than just technique. In his simple, no-words site, each brand and subject he tackles with his pen relays an interesting message - from depicting a drunk Jesus, to a consumer with an Adidas "habit" - which often makes you look twice.
